Problem Statement
Velociteach has a strong reputation for equipping project managers with the skills to excel professionally and advance in their careers. However, they needed a website that reflected their expertise, facilitated easy navigation, and simplified the process of registering for their programs.
Goals
Visual Update
Enhanced Navigation
UX Improvements
Discovery
When a client says, "We want our website to be more professional," it can be somewhat vague. I asked more questions to clarify what they wanted the website to communicate to users. Their keywords were "professional," "organized," and "innovative."
Although these words were still broad, I used them as a starting point. I then turned to Pinterest, gathering a few website inspirations to show the client to offer more clarity and to help establish the art direction.

SCOPE OF WORK
User Journey Flows, Wireframes, Mockups
ROLE
Senior Web Designer
Define & Concept
We began by creating a new sitemap, rethinking the naming conventions and user journeys for specific navigation menu items. Then, we wireframed each webpage to ensure the information architecture aligned with the desired user experience.
Design
Once the wireframes were approved, I designed the first version of the homepage to set the project's art direction. The client loved the approach, and after making a few tweaks, I designed the remaining pages for review.
Challenges
As we all know, there's rarely a perfect design process. Throughout this project, we had to manage scope creep and reset expectations.
Issue #1:
The website had a significant amount of content and many pages that needed updating with the new design. The Velociteach team expected us to handle most of this work without additional cost.
Solutions
Because I value strong collaboration and empathetic communication, I worked through these challenges to find resolutions.
Solution to Issue #1:
We empathetically understood their assumption and acknowledged that we hadn't communicated clearly enough to set expectations regarding content importing and photography. After discussions, we negotiated a slight increase in their budget to accommodate their needs.
Results
We aimed for the homepage to serve as a high-level landing page, directing traffic to specific areas of the website. Velociteach wanted to highlight their classes, podcast, and blog, so we ensured these were prominently featured on the homepage for better visibility.
To further enhance navigation, we designed a mega menu, making it easier for users to access detailed information on each resource and quickly find what they were looking for.
The website was launched on time, following a thorough QA process to ensure a successful launch.
